Community Learning Center

Learning Center Fade

Our biggest project this summer will be the construction of the Community Learning Center Adziwa (click to learn more). This is the orphan community we have been working with for the past four years. We are so excited about this building and we just know it is going to mean BIG things for this community! The children under 5 are currently participating in the WCIM meal program which provides them one meal a day five days a week. These kids are all too young for school in Malawi, but we want them to have a real classroom where they can begin to get prepared for school.  Our children here in the United States have preschool and kindergarden and we want these little ones to also have that. This building will not only provide a classroom that these children can call their own, but it will also help create another income opportunity for Adziwa. This will help them along the path of being self sustainable!

This building will be built next to the gardens that our volunteers helped get started in 2014. The children will be able to have some hands on learning with Tovia who currently helps manage all the gardens and growing for Adziwa. With the playground also being built this summer these kids are going to have a pretty wonderful place to spend their days!

Check out the plans for the Community Learning Center and let us know what you think! We are less than 60 days from departure for our summer groups and still have some money to raise. Please consider donating to help us get this project completed this summer!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our projects and to help spread the word!
